Helena High School is committed to each student maximizing their individual potential to become the most responsible, competent, and caring citizen possible. Therefore, special education in Helena High is deemed as an integral part of identified children’s growth.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) mandates that eligible children with disabilities have available to them special education and related services designed to address their unique educational needs. To be eligible for special education and related services, a student must meet the criteria for one or more of the disabling conditions listed below and as a result of that condition, the student is in need of special education.
