Counseling and Career Guidance

 

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!

HHS Counseling and Career Department provides information and assistance with academic progress, course selection, careers, college searches, scholarships, financial aid, and other

 post-secondary opportunities.  Individual guidance and classroom group instruction are provided to assist students in making educational and vocational/career plans. Additionally, our staff offers personal and social support to individuals and families. Students are assigned to counselors by last name.

Graduation Day: Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 9:00 A.M.  (Students must report by 8:00 a.m.)
Carroll College

*Weather permitting, graduation will be outside at Nelson Stadium. No tickets necessary.
*In case of inclement weather, graduation will be held inside the Carroll PE Center. Tickets are required for this venue.  Members of the Class of 2026 will receive 9 tickets, which is based on fire code standards.
*Tickets will be distributed in May 2026 in Government classes. Extra tickets are not available.

Senior Tests – 2nd Semester

Monday         June 1, Regular day — Counselors in Government classes for Graduation Preparation
Tuesday         June 2, Regular day
Wednesday   June 3, Periods 0, 1, 2, and 3- regularly scheduled classes. Periods 4, 5, 6 & 7- finals in these classes
Thursday       June 4, Periods 0, 1, 2 & 3- finals in these classes. Graduation rehearsal at CC at 11:15 AM.
Friday             June 5, No School for Seniors

Graduation practice will be Thursday, June 5 @11:15 at Carroll College PE Center.  Students must participate in graduation practice in order to be in the commencement ceremony  on Saturday.  All seniors will be dismissed at the end of third period.

Chromebooks will be checked in to the Main Office May 26th to May 29th.

We use a systematic approach to accomplish these goals with all students and families, including:

YEARLY PRESENTATIONS

Class registration, information nights, and social/emotion classroom lessons

OPEN OFFICE/WALK IN TIMES

Counselors keep “open office” time for general walk-in questions. Your individual counselor may not be available, but someone in the department will be available to assist you.

INDIVIDUAL APPOINTMENTS (Use Teams or email to set up appointments) —

Personal Interviews & Post Secondary Planning, general information, scheduling, career/college/scholarship opportunities, personal concerns/referrals, your counselor needs to see you for various reasons, etc.


All services provided by your school counselors are free, voluntary and completely confidential, except as required by law to the students, families, teachers and school staff in the Helena Public Schools.
